Dishes Clean or Dirty? Avoid the confusion, no need for signs

When you completely empty the dishwasher, put the soap in the dispenser immediately. Therefore, if there is soap in the dispenser the dishes inside are dirty. If the soap door is open (and empty) the dishes are clean. Do not put dirty dishes in if the soap door is open!

I've lost 10 pounds in 8 weeks with SparkPeople. It doesn't matter if you mess up a day, or miss a workout, just get back to it, do what you've learned here, and you WILL lose too!

Small Change adds up

During a children's moment each Sunday at my Church the children collect change in cans for special events. This year we have collected enough change to purchase and fill with school supplies 80 backpacks for the needy in our community, 2 wheelchairs for a special projects and send 6 youth to camp.

sandwich greens for one or two

Instead of buying a head of lettuce and bunch of spinach that will go bad before one or two people can use them up - I buy a little of each off the salad bar (3-4 days worth of greens for my sandwiches for just a few cents)!

Mashed potatoes make-over

I made some mashed potatoes last night with a bit of Greek yogurt and water instead of milk and margarine and they were really tasty. The yogurt made it really tangy and tasted as though I had made the potatoes with sour cream. Yum!

Change your Calories

The time when most people hit a plateau is when they have lost about 10lbs. You need to reassess your calories at this time. This is usually when you need to drop your calories by about 500 a day. That should get the weightloss back on track.

Plan Dinner Ahead of Time!

I planned dinner ahead of time so we wouldn't go out to eat, as my hubby usually likes to do. I planned it using the Spark recipes and added a vegetable and a grain. Even though my husband is a picky eater, he loved the meal! Success! emoticon
