Proper use of a straw

Have you ever noticed that when you use a straw, you end up drinking more? I definitely have.

My rule is that I can use a straw any time I'm drinking water (or other healthy drinks). Anything else and the straw is forbidden.

Drink while you eat

Before you eat make sure to have a glass of water. Also, take a sip of water between every bite. That way you are increasing your water intake and decreasing how fast (and how much) you eat.

When I was just starting out I tried finding lots of little ways to get moving. One of my favorite finds was doing the car dance. Every morning on my way to work I turn my radio on, find some great tunes, and turn it up!

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but fiber and water are great (and often overlooked) weight loss tools! Make sure to get at least 8 cups of water and between 25-35 g of fiber every day.

Want to lower your cable bill?

Just ask. Call up your cable company and ask them if you qualify for their promotional rates. Every time I have asked they have been able to lower my bill by at least $20 a month for cable alone. (Extra savings if you bundle your services).
