Take 5 minutes, every day, to look at yourself in the mirror. Don't pick at your flaws or put yourself down, just look at your features and find those things about your body that you love. Tell yourself that you are getting stronger every day and that you are choosing to live a healthier lifestyle and that you and your body should be appreciated and complimented for all the efforts you are putting forth. Love yourself for who you are, right now, without exception. You deserve it!
Craving a delicious creamy banana split? Try this low fat/low carb alternative: Use one container of Yoplait Light Very Vanilla fat free yogurt, 2 tablespoons of sugar free chocolate syrup, one small banana 1/2 cup fresh, cut strawberries. Place the yogurt in a small dessert dish, surround with banana slices and top with strawberries then garnish with chocolate syrup. I have found that through all the ups and downs of life the most important thing to remember, above all else, is never give up and NEVER surrender! There will be times when you are frustrated, bored, angry, or just plain tired. But if you keep moving forward you will come through stronger than before. You may not always meet every goal or lose every pound but the effort you put forth will teach you perseverance, strength, patience and that you are stronger than you think you are!
I am quite the night owl and used to find myself mindlessly munching on...well, just about anything within reach while watching television or surfing the internet at night. Once I joined sparkpeople.com I traded in my "mindless munching" for reading motivational blogs and informational articles. By doing this I am not only learning more about how to live a healthy lifestyle, but reaching for those M & M's or potato chips just somehow no longer seem appealing to me.
