Don't feel like exercising? Here's what I do

When I am struggling to get my exercise done due to distractions or fatigue, I enter my cardio and ST into my fitness tracker. Seeing the calories burned and wanting to avoid being dishonest makes me head out the door to burn what I tracked. I find this really helps me stay consistent and on track.

Keeping Healthy Foods on Hand

Keeping your house stocked with handy healthy foods is easy if you make a habit of always picking up something when you pop into the market. I always just grab an extra rice cakes, whole wheat pita, broccoli, nuts, etc. so that I never run out of these basic items. I do shop monthly for the house, but I go to the market 1-2x week for fresh produce or milk, and I've found just grabbing some of these other items keeps me from accidentally running out!

Hypertension / Diabetic / everyone friendly snack

Sprinkle ground cinnamon on a sliced apple. Not only does it taste refreshingly good, but there is some evidence cinnamon helps reduce high blood pressure. It takes an ordinary apple and makes it a dessert. Enjoy!

Soups Made from Veggies for Non-Veggie Eaters

Although I now eat quite a few veggie with ease, as short as 3 months ago it was quite a different story. I really didn't care for most vegetables. To overcome this problem, I have learned to take a serving or two of vegetables and turn them into soup. In the beginning I put the soup in a cup to get it down faster. Now I actually enjoy savoring the soups. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

2 Minute Power Breakfast Oatmeal

A complete breakfast in two minutes! I make "batches" of oatmeal 1-2X each week and keep it in the frig. Each morning I measure 1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal, add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and 1/2 cup nonfat milk. Microwave 2 minutes and it is done. This not only tastes similar to a peanut butter oatmeal cookie, but easily keeps me going until noon. Without the peanut butter hunger creeps in mid morning. It is especially yummy if you add 1 tsp of Splenda.
