I made pasta with turkey italian sausage yesterday for my boyfriend, and I wanted to eat an entire plateful myself. Instead, I pulled some frozen veggies out of the freezer, heated them up, and mixed them up with 3 oz. of pasta. It was so filling and delicious, and I saved myself about 400 calories by using less pasta!
I made this suggestion to a SparkFriend who was having trouble staying on track. Whenever she noticed a loss on the scale, she became a little lax in her diet. She would then gain some back.
Running on the treadmill, climbing the stairmaster, or riding a stationary bike can get pretty boring, especially if you forget your headphones. One thing I love to do is pick someone who's on the same machine and put myself into competition with them (in my mind, of course). For example, if I'm running on the treadmill, I'll pick someone who's kicking a$$ and try to jump on a treadmill next to them. I then decide that I'm either going to run faster or longer, or both than them.
