Consistency with exercise

Having the same routine on a weekly basis keeps me focused. I vary the CDs and the type of exercise, but I strive to maintain at least 30 minutes daily first thing in the morning. Having a schedule keeps me on track.

Staying motivated

Staying motivated is hard sometimes. Anytime I feel myself slipping into a comfort state I do a little research. I look for new health sites and articles. Studies published about food or some info found on bodybuilding.com. Finding new info gives me something new to include in what I'm doing. It keeps me motivated and "switching things up."

Like Training a Puppy

When I decided to start using SP my main focus was to get moving again. My goal is to walk 30 minutes a day ( which I use to do once upon a time). I approached it like training a new puppy. Repetition, repetition, repetition. Do it over and over again and eventually you have a new learned habit. The REWARD is not a puppy treat but a new, healthy lifelong habit.

Where did I park?

Ever spend a day at the amusement park and then forget where you parked? Me too. I learned this from someone at Hersheypark this past weekend. Using your cell phone or digital camera, take a picture of the parking sign closest to where you park. Easy, right?

Put food in the tracker BEFORE you eat it

When I track my food after meals, I always find that I ate more than I thought I did. I've started planning my entire day's meals, and I put it in the tracker, and look at it before meals/snacks to make sure I stick to what I planned to eat. Might not work for everyone, but it helps me.

Great Value Frosted Mini Wheats

I found that the Walmart brand of Frosted Mini Wheats is a great way to start your day if your sodium intake has to be reduced. There is zero grams of sodium in this cereal.
