Easy liquid/fat separation.

Don't have time to chill it and remove the solidified fat?

Pour the liquid into a heavy duty zip-lock type baggie. Place the bag in a tall slim container and allow the fat to rise to the top. Very carefully lift the bag from the container and hold it over a bowl. Snip a small hole in one corner to release the liquid. Pinch the hole closed before the fat can pour out.
No muss. No fuss. No mess!!!

When craving junky snacks ..walk it out.

When I'm feeling stressed and want to snack on junk. I find taking a walk , like on my 15min break, getting outside does the trick. By the time I end my little walk I no longer have the desire for a junky snack at all. emoticon

Audio Book

I purchased an audio book to listen to while I go for a walk. It gives me something to look forward to while I walk.

One Step Wonder with Foil - Take it Further!

To save money, meal preparation and clean up time, I purchase 2-3 pkgs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts when they go on sale, wrap 2-3 breasts with my favorite seasoning in foil and freeze all foil pkgs in one large freezer bag. When you feel like it, take on pkg out of the bag and cook (from frozen) in oven @ 250F for 3-4 hrs while you go about your business (best if also baking potatoes or squash.) Meat always tender and you have low cal meals ready for the rest of the week.

Tracking

I find that if I track what I'm going to eat at the beginning of the day, I'm more likely to stay on track. I hate having to go back and change my tracker for a cookie or 1 peanut M&M!

Motivate someone else

Motivate someone else. Have you read a blog or post by a person who is struggling? Give that person some encouragement. Tell them you believe in them and that they can achieve their dreams. Not only will they feel supported and encouraged, but so will you. When we help each other we become more motivated ourselves.

Green Tea

Every time I feel like eating because I'm bored/stressed out, I make a cup of green tea instead. The warm liquid keeps me busy and also calms me down.

Stickers Aren't Just for Kids

Make a sticker chart and hang it someplace visible. Filling up empty boxes with shiny stars can motivate you, even if you're not 7 years old!

Moderation "Nothing tastes better than that first bite!"

Nothing tastes better than that first bite! by Valerie Bertineli

This helps to cut back on a comfort food & refocus (re-frame) thinking which helps one to eat less .. Try it, it works!

Drink Green Tea

I've been drinking Green Tea instead of coffee in the morning to save the calories from the creamer, and I've noticed that the green tea suppresses my appetite and helps to keep me full until lunch. Now, I'm drinking a cup every morning after breakfast.
