When I cook meals, I make enough for at least two extra portions (and sometimes more). I have lunch for work the next day. I then portion the remaining leftovers into individual servings and freeze them. When frozen, I remove from the container and seal them with my food saver. All I need to do is grab one out of the freezer for a quick lunch or dinner. This saves money because I always have something available to take for lunch and I eliminate waste because we're using all the food.
When you have to open a can or package of something but only need to use a small amount, divide up the rest and pre-package it for next time.
My daughter ordered Pizza and all the pies looked so lovely. I cut a sliver off every piece and ate it with a fork while holding a granddaughter. So I got to sample all four kinds. Took longer to eat, I didn't feel deprived and didn't over eat!
