I make extra trips upstairs putting things away. I carry items, sometimes one at a time, to get extra steps each day.
If you happen to stay in a hotel that provides shower caps, take the unused one home in the package. Use to cover leftovers in the refrigerator. The elastic holds the plastic in place and most of these will fit larger bowls.
We put out a large garden each year. We take the extra produce that we cannot use to our congregation and
share with the older members who can no longer
garden for themselves. It feels good!
To cut the sodium in homemade or boughten sauerkraut,
drain brine, rinse and then add 1/2 cup apple juice. It removes the sour taste and adds a light and delicate flavor.
By using ground ginger, you can cut the amount of sugar you use by half. I use 1/4 teapspoon of ginger and reduce the sugar by a cup. It still taste just as good as the ginger makes you taste sweetness without adding sugar.
I talk myself up! If I think I am too tired to do one more thing, I give myself a mental shake and make the effort. One more block, one more repetition or one more household chore. The feeling of satisfaction is huge!
Cardio and strength activities every day are a must. Even with a busy lifestyle, it is important to be active everyday. Change up my routines to keep it fresh and make sure that I have at least 30 minutes of cardio every day.
Tracking what I eat for every meal and snack is essential for
me. It keeps me accountable and on top of my program. I
know how many calories I have consumed and can plan and budget for a special meal and stay in my calorie range.
