Shake it up

Every six weeks or so, I drastically shake up my routine. Not only has it helped with the interminable plateau I've been stuck on, my body appreciates the change, and I'm always engaged; never bored.

Chobani Greek Yogurt

These are the best brand of yogurt thus far. They are extra thick and creamy, full of protein and full of flavor. The pineapple flavor with the 2% can be used as a dessert for oneself and the regular is a perfect substitute for sour cream any day. It goes on sale often, so give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised!!! emoticon

Thomas Bagel Thins

Delicious! Half the size of a normal bagel, same taste. Great for lunch sandwiches or my favorite, breakfast sandwiches! Only 110 calories and 1 gram of fat per serving, plain, whole wheat and the everything bagel.

Arnold Sandwich Thins

I really like these, especially the wheat ones. I use them instead of a bun with my Boca Burger. The bread doesn't overpower the burger......and only 100 calories

State of shock

Sometimes to break through a plateau I have to shock my body. This sometimes includes adding in a different type of workout...instead of running, I swim. Or workout 2x a day.
Changing up my eating routine helps too. Eat at the low end of calories one day and near the hi end the next.

How much did I eat anyway?

once every few weeks actually measure your food for a couple of days just to make sure you don't lose your perspective on what a portion really looks like!

DJ Walkie Walkie

Mix the the music on your iPod play list. There is nothing like going from Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why" to K.C. and the Sunshine Band's Boogie Shoes to change a pace. From the first note your whole body perks up and starts moving to the beat.

Keeping me exercising

The way I keep myself exercising every night is I download a audio book onto my mp3 player and listen to the story. I get so involved in the story that I want to exercise and forget how long I have been exercising. In order to find out what happens next in the book I have to go and exercise.
