We are always in a rush to lose weight. We need to learn to take things slow & steady. By concentrating on 1 small change at a time, our odds increase for keeping the weight off. Develop 1 habit at a time before attempting another 1. We can easily become overwhelmed & give up when under pressure.
Have a "bad" meal? Missed a workout? What you do next determines your success. Don't beat yourself up about something that happened in the past over which you have no control now. Don't let a "bad" meal or a binge turn into something bigger.
When you hit a plateau in your weight loss, try adding a few higher intensity bursts or intervals to your cardio workouts. This elevates your heart rate, makes you work harder and burns more calories to help shock your body and jump start your weight loss again!
Make up your days meals and snacks in the tracker. Make sure that you are within the given range of the big 4 (calories, fat, carbs, protein). Then run the daily report and see how your Pie chart for where your calories are coming from matches up to what is recommended. If it isn't close, go back and pick different items so that you come as close as possible. Then all you have to do is eat what you planned...weight loss is coming your way!
One way I have been able to overcome my habit of pushing the snooze button in the morning is to turn on my mp3 player to my favorite playlists. Music really gets me going in the morning and ready to do my workouts even before I get to the gym. Dance while scrambling those eggs?? Who would ever think? Plug in those tunes and get ready for the day!!
Don't hesitate to celebrate all the things you like about you, weight loss related or not. The more you give yourself credit for, the more you will learn to love yourself. The more you love yourself, the harder you will want to work to make yourself better. Start with something small or seemingly simple "hey I like my handwriting today" and before you know it you will be saying "Man, I'm awesome and I look great"
