I have a 27 oz. water bottle that I use. I drink one glass of water with breakfast then drink my water bottle twice. So I can trick myself into thinking I only drink 3 "cups" of water not 8.
When I want a snack, I first drink some water and set the timer for 10 minutes. If at the end of 10 minutes I'm still hungry, I know that I am really hungry, and not just thirsty or bored.
I have found that I eat a lot at night, so to curb this, I decided not to eat anything 2 hours before I go to bed. This will curb my snacking and lead to the next step of no snacking at night.
