Hopefully I don't offend anyone when I say I've become the Electricity Witch. I bought a electric usage meter you plug into the wall sockets to measure all the things we keep plugged in. We no longer keep the DVRS, TVS, Chargers, or ANYTHING plugged in, unless its in use. I've seen a large drop in untilties since.
Fels Naptha is the best laundry stain remover I have EVER found and it is dirt cheap! It comes in a bar soap with a white paper wrapper and costs a dollar at Walmart. I have used it to successfully take out makeup, grass stains, and all kinds of other crud.
I keep 10 marbles in a jar and as I lose 1 pound, I move them to another jar. This gives me a visual of what I have lost. I keep repeating until I have made my goal weight. After 10 lbs, I treat myself - either a pedicure, manicure or a massage.
Known mostly for their glass canning jars, Ball also has 8 oz plastic jars intended for freezer jam and such. I like to use them to plan my lunches and snacks during the week. The screw-on lids are liquid tight, making it easy to carry everything from carrot sticks to a serving of fruit juice without worrying about spills. The 8 oz size makes them great for portion control, and I can fill them on Sunday evening, so all I have to do during the week is grab and go!
