If your insurance includes "SIlver & Fit" or "Silver Sneakers" you may be covered from gym fees. Check with your insurance! And let them know where you work out and if that Gym is affiliated you could work out for free!
Always make sure your fridge is stocked with fresh fruits and veggies. This may mean shopping a couple times a week, but I guarantee when you open your fridge door and see all the healthy food your diet is so much easier!
Eat tons of fruits and veggies every day. Base 2 meals a day around veggies. Just fill your plate! (Add protein and fat to complete the meal). They are nutrient dense and have lots of fiber which will help you prevent additional cravings and getting hungry as much.
Keep healthy munching foods stocked: carrots, cucumbers, apples, pumpkin seeds, 100 calorie popcorn portions, etc. Keep them in your fridge, pantry and at work. Salsa and low-cal ranch dressing are a good addition for just a few calories.
I get up a little early so I can make my coffee or pot of tea and read the news, or play on Sparkpeople. It helps me wake up gently and look forward to the day rather than loathe my alarm clock and life outside of my cozy bed. Do something you enjoy right away. If you must get up, talk yourself into it with something special.
I have got to have something sweet in the evening after dinner... it's a must. So I plan ahead and set aside 100-300 calories during the day for later. A glass of wine, a bit of chocolate...
Eating a high protein breakfast keeps me fuller longer than the same number of calories would with a lower calorie meal. I don't have cravings, I am more alert and less likely to snack mindlessly because my blood sugar level is happy.
