FREE GYM MEMBERSHIP with certain insurance plans

If your insurance includes "SIlver & Fit" or "Silver Sneakers" you may be covered from gym fees. Check with your insurance! And let them know where you work out and if that Gym is affiliated you could work out for free!

I have most recently seen Medicare and Kaiser insurance... but there are many.

When you Wake Up Drink 2 Cups of Water

Dehydration can cause fatigue and cause cravings. Give yourself more energy and prevent more cravings by downing 2 glass of water when you get up---before breakfast! emoticon

Keep Fresh Fruits & Veggies Stocked

Always make sure your fridge is stocked with fresh fruits and veggies. This may mean shopping a couple times a week, but I guarantee when you open your fridge door and see all the healthy food your diet is so much easier!

I keep apples, pears, berries, bananas, avocados
sweet potatoes, squash, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, swiss chard, onions and carrots on hand every week. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Base 2 Meals on Fruits and Veggies

Eat tons of fruits and veggies every day. Base 2 meals a day around veggies. Just fill your plate! (Add protein and fat to complete the meal). They are nutrient dense and have lots of fiber which will help you prevent additional cravings and getting hungry as much.
If you're dieting, you are taking in less calories... make them count.

Munchies Attack!

Keep healthy munching foods stocked: carrots, cucumbers, apples, pumpkin seeds, 100 calorie popcorn portions, etc. Keep them in your fridge, pantry and at work. Salsa and low-cal ranch dressing are a good addition for just a few calories. emoticon

NETFLIX & HULU are your Friend

I watch Netflix or an episode of Hulu when I do my cardio. I never get bored this way. I actually look forward to getting sweaty because I've tricked myself so well!!! emoticon

Start Each Day Like it was on Purpose

I get up a little early so I can make my coffee or pot of tea and read the news, or play on Sparkpeople. It helps me wake up gently and look forward to the day rather than loathe my alarm clock and life outside of my cozy bed. Do something you enjoy right away. If you must get up, talk yourself into it with something special. emoticon

Save some Calories for an evening Sweet

I have got to have something sweet in the evening after dinner... it's a must. So I plan ahead and set aside 100-300 calories during the day for later. A glass of wine, a bit of chocolate... emoticon
If I run out of calories for the day, I'll make myself sweet tea and sweeten it with Stevia to get my fix.

Protein Up Your Breakfast!

Eating a high protein breakfast keeps me fuller longer than the same number of calories would with a lower calorie meal. I don't have cravings, I am more alert and less likely to snack mindlessly because my blood sugar level is happy.
