Ice Cream

I was "treating" myself to a pint of strawberry ice cream with a brownie warmed each Sunday evening for quite sometime. It was my gift for making it through a week at work. I have stopped this habit. I have not had this snack for 3 weeks. Yea!

Iron Cookware

Cook your food in iron cookware, you get iron added to your diet . Also it is relatively inexpensive, easy to clean and lasts forever!....just do not use on a ceramic top stove!

Laundry detergent trick!

I have a great trick to save money while getting your clothes clean: You use 1/2 of what the detergent says to use. I know a lot of people do this but it really does work and it gets your clothes just as clean!

Try a challenge to jumpstart your enthusiasm

I joined two SparkPeople exercise challenge teams which really jumpstarted my calorie burn AND gave me new enthusiasm to reach my goals. Jumping jacks, short walks and other 10 minute or less excercise throughout the day has worked wonders.

One Thing at a Time

Just change one thing at a time. Start with tracking calories...as you master that, move on to adding something else. Trying to do too much at once sets us up for failure and we get upset when we aren't successful at ALL of it.

Get out and do some YARDWORK!

Not only will you be burning calories, but your yard will look amazing! The best part is, you won't even feel like you are "exercising"..

Grocery Coupons

I hit the following websites weekly to stock up on electronic coupons for grocery shopping. For some, you can load them directly onto your savings card (paperless!), and others you can print out and take with you. The paperless ones automatically redeem at checkout.

POSITIVE

I take each day as it comes whether good or bad. Some days I wake up a mess and others I am energetic. I try and make the best out of each day no matter what. I have decided that as we get older you have to get to the point that it is always a surprise when you wake up. So here is to getting older and make the best of it as you can.

Who needs numbers?

Never EVER fret if you have been sticking to your SparkDiet and working out, but aren't losing the weight.
I have lost three pounds in three months, but I can see my body changing from a muscular perspective. Muscle weighs more than fat, so losing fat/weight can be coupled with the gaining of heavy muscle.

Weight is just like age - NOTHIN' BUT A NUMBER!
