I love the first of the month

I view the first of every month as a time to let go of the negative of the last month, focus on the positives of last month, and evaluate how I can make this month better.

Live Life

My secret is to NEVER go a full week of DIETING. I always allow myself a day to indulge (NOT TOTALLY PIG OUT) and keep on track the rest of the week. It has given me much success!

Plan to be successful

I have been told a lot that I don't eat enough throughout the day, then I eat a huge meal at the end of the day because I'm finally hungry. I had to plan to eat during the day. Plan a breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and I don't find myself getting hungry during the day, and I'm not starving at dinner either. Its really helping.

Have Soup Packets & Dried-Food Bags Falling From Every Shel

Put them in transparent containers. Use see-through, stackable plastic containers to hold loose packets of soup mix, hot cocoa, tea, & condiments. They’ll be much easier to find than tucked away in piles of plastic bags. Kitchen supply stores carry nice-looking sturdy glass or plastic containers, or you can convert jars you already have.

exercising

When I make my self exercise it makes me eat better. Because I hate it so much that I don't want to waste it by eating like a pig.

Bermuda Triangle of Holidays ... We're there!

We're in the Bermuda Triangle of Holidays where even a seasoned Maintainer can lose footing. Let's make a choice not to! We made the choice to lose weight, let's make a choice to maintain during the next months. Plan. Track. Exercise. Talk it out with those who understand. Let the holidays be one meal, not days on end of eating. Make the holidays about friends and family. Celebrate the occasion, not the food. YOU are sooooo worth the effort! emoticon

The Weekend

emoticon It's the weekend! That does not mean that we get a free pass from our plan for the next few days. Saturday-Sunday ... or Friday-Saturday-Sunday are not free days. They may be different schedule days, but they are still on plan days. They are unless we want to fight to maintain during the other days of the week. It's our battle; we get to select the battle plan!

Fat and Your Heart

I had a severe heart attack & subsequent open heart surgery with four bypasses (all of the main arteries that provide blood for your heart).
After I was released from the hospital & started rehab, one of the things my insurance company insisted on was that I take a two part class in Nutrition.
Wow! Was I shocked!
The very first thing in the first class was a row of food in the back & the fat extracted from that food in a test tube or beaker sitting in front of the food.
Whole Milk. OMG! I

Cheat

For staying motivated, I pick one day usually on the weekend where I forget all the rules and just have fun, so if I am out and about I don't feel guilty for having that hamburger or ice cream. I also won't be haunted by husband eating delicious Sonic in front of me! It's like a reward for a week well done!
