I have found that many people who are trying to take off weight keep it a secret. Yes, I know this is a secret to success area, but not that kind of secret. When trying to take off weight don't be secretive about it. Let people know. And let them know specific details. If you just tell people you are trying to loose wight, you might here; "You don't need to loose weight.", or, "One little bite won't hurt." Tell them "I am trying to loose weight by cutting out sweets." or something similar.
One thing people don't like is change. But with change comes growth. Don't run from change. You need to start drinking 8 eight oz glasses of water a day. Don't say, I can't; I don't drink that much water now. I can't change to do that. Sure you can. You need to start moving more. Don't think; I can't make that kind of change. Yes you can!
That is it. What?, you ask. The title of this secret, that's what. Whenever you need help from friends and family members, ask for it. Most people don't want to hurt or offend others. So when your best friend insists you try a piece of her freshly made pie, you'll say yes. Don't do it. Don't sell your friend short. She wants to help you if she can. She just needs to know you really need it. Ask your friend for their help. Just say, could I ask for your help? and explain what you need.
Someone a few years ago told me something a friend had told her. I took this to heart and use it when I am having trouble. Whenever you are having trouble with focus, will power, or any other situation just say to yourself,"I can not have that donut just one more day.", "I can drink my water for now.", "I can feel positive about myself today." You can do anything for just one more day. Then the next day. if you need it, you can have it. But, try to do it one more day.
A key to keeping on track and not quitting is to have a support group. You know; friends. There is about 1 to 2% of people that cannot work with a group and have to do things on their own. But most people thrive in groups with others facing the same issues. AA, Weight Watchers, etc. If you are not in the 1 to 2%, find a group to join. Even if it just three or four friends sitting around a table talking about health issues and sharing secrets, that will help, as long as you stick with it.
I have posted in other secrets my top three secrets to loosing weight. This is my top motivational secret during that process. Do not, and I repeat, do not, beat yourself up! I have known many people over the years that have said; "I ate some chocolate while dieting and can't go on because I am a failure!" Wait just a minute, a failure because you ate some chocolate. "I just can't get up and moving in the morning. I am going to give up because I am a loser!" Well then, I am a failure and a loser.
I now have the honor of bringing you the number 3 secret to loosing weight. I have searched the globe high and low to glean this secret. Well, years of trial and error anyway. The number 3 secret to losing weight is; tada; drink your water. If you google water and check out all the things it will do for you it will surprise you. Everyone needs to drink at least 8 eight oz glasses of water each day. But beware of water intoxication. Don't drink to much without replacing your bodies electrolytes.
I now have for you the number 2 secret to weight loss. After years of research and trial & error I have found it. The number 2 secret to loosing weight is to move more. Wait, you say! I don't want to have to exercise. Wait, I say! I didn't say the E word. I said to move more.
I have found the number 1 secret to loosing weight. This has not been something I just came up with. I found this after years of trial and error. Not just out of the blue. I know you're thinking, who is this guy, what does he know? That could be asked of anyone. I am just a guy who knows.
