Did you know that Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice tea tastes great, smells great and has a hint of sweetness that is totally noncaloric? There is no sugar, and the label indicates that there are absolutely no calories. I think that the chicory gives it the sweet taste. Try it; you might love it! It's herbal and there is no caffeine!
For those of us who have decided to stop eating at a certain hour, set your cell phone to that time as a reminder. That way, when you hear the chime (or whatever) you will know that it is time to drink water only until the next morning.
A couple of days ago I posted about watching labels for caloric intake per serving, and stated that Nestea Iced Tea had a whopping 210 calories per serving. SALTYCHOCOLATE was gracious enough to correct me. I had looked at the Daily Value, not the Calorie count per serving. The actual (correct) calorie count is 80 per serving. I apologize for the error. Will look more carefully next time
I bought a bottle of Nestle's Iced Tea, ready to drink it. However, I Iooked at the calorie count and discovered that there were 2.5 servings at 210 calories per serving. That meant that the 20 ounce drink had 525 calories in it. FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE CALORIES IN A TWENTY OUNCE DRINK?!?!?!?!?
A good midday snack is FiberOne frosted shredded wheat. Keep some on hand in your purse or bag. One half cup is 100 calories and it's high in fiber and low in sugar. They will take the edge off your hunger pangs in the middle of the day, and they are delicious and crunchy. I recommend drinking water with them, since they may be a bit dry for your taste. You will feel "full and focused" as the commercial characters say.
I find that drinking a glass of water helps curtail my appetite. Since I am an emotional eater, water saves me from overeating, because it helps my stomach to feel full. Also, chewing gum helps me to "pretend" that I am eating, because it keeps my digestive juices flowing.
