Eat This Not That!!

I picked a copy of Eat This Not That! 2012 edition and its been an eye opener. I never thought that buying a variety of yogurts or bread would be a hazard to my waistline. So i have started using this book as my shopping guide, and i can already tell the difference on my eating habits and health.

Brown Rice

So I decided to traded white rice for brown rice as a way of being healthy but i had my doubts since a lot of people claim brown rice has no taste. So I decided to use coconut milk to flavor up my brown rice. I can tell you that its delicious and I have never regretted it. Sometimes i add some turmeric for color & flavor or some curry powder. For one cup of brown rice, I use half a can of coconut milk, then a cup & a half of water but simmer the heat (btwn low & medium). If am cooking for more

Yogurt on fruits & Crackers instead of empty calorie fruit dips

So i stopped buying expensive fruit dips and cheeses for my crackers and fruits. I wait for great sales on healthy yogurts like Chobani (10 for 10 at Shoprite), Greek, or Oikos and I use them as my dips. Try Chobani on honey graham crackers when you so badly want that snack and its yummmy!! If you prefer plain yogurts for your fruits awesome coz this saves some extra calories. I know some Yogurts are cheaper but its at the expense of your waistline due to the amount of sugar and carbs.
