De-cluttering tip

Sort into boxes or bins by category: put away, give away, throw away. Think about the item before you decide to keep it. Do you REALLY need the clutter? Think about someone else that could use it. Don't keep it if it is a duplicate, or just because it might hurt someone's feelings if you don't. It makes you feel better if you know someone else that can use it or love it. Then, have a yard sale, or give it to a charity.

I want s'more!

1 rectangle graham cracker- break in 2. put one on plate, put a few mini semi sweet chocolate chips on it, 1 marshmallow - put in microwave 5-9 seconds til puffy. Take out, and put other cracker on top. About 100 calories for a sweet treat. (I use about 10 mini morsels) - less than 1//2 tsp. Sweet little treat!!!

Be creative!

Do something creative. It feels good, takes your mind off food and diet. It makes you feel accomplished. It is a great release of tension. It gives you something to focus on. Music. Art. Writing. What ever you can be creative with.

One box at a time

I tend to put things in boxes, who doesn't. But now, I am decluttering one box at a time. I can sit in my chair, listen/watch tv, and go through one box at a time with a trash can close by. It works!

Decluttering the flylady way

Flylady sells fold-able mesh carry alls for sorting through stuff.
Give away, Put Away, Throw Away. http://www.flylady.net/pages

Now, I don't use the "throw away" for trash, because it is too pretty, but I use it for other sorting activities - pack away, etc. These are great! You could use for laundry, kids toys, whatever needs to get returned to its rightful home.

Laugh when you can

Laughter lightens the mood, lifts your spirits, makes you forget your troubles, and makes others smile or laugh with you. I think we must burn more calories laughing then brooding

Have fun!

Don't be an old sour puss, just because you are not getting your way and eating all the junk you were doing. Instead smile, be happy, play some fitness games - jump rope, wii fit plus, dance around. It makes all the difference in the world! Your family will thank you for it.

Quick and easy start: You CAN do it!

Remember that Rome wasn't built in a day. You didn't gain all the weight overnight, and it won't disappear that quickly either. With that in mind, think movement. Whatever you do, move in the right direction, keep on moving. You can do it, one step at a time, a few minutes here, a few minutes there.
