My then-5-year-old once told my husband at dinner, "Finish chewing what's in your mouth before you take another bite." What an a-ha! Often I am only almost-done chewing the previous forkful when I scoop up another bite. Being mindful of this really slows me down. I also put my fork down now & then.
I've noticed that when I eat high protein breakfasts, I eat better for the rest of the day and rarely get hungry between meals.

You can get raw oats from Whole Foods in Bulk foods. They're inexpensive. Cook up 1 cup in 4 cups water the night before--until boiling. Then the next morning, take a cup of this mixture and heat it through til boiling again, mixed with raisins, or other dried fruit, if you like! umm. Yummy!
Life is about ups and downs. Just like it is impossible to be always up, it is impossible to be always down. If you are feeling down just look up and you might find someone or something there to pull you up!
If you are like me there are things you have to do that you don't like to do. For me it used to be housework. I hated it. And who ever says "thanks for cleaning the toilet"? So one day I came in to my family and said "I am going to say I did something & after, I want you to yell "Yay Mom!".
