A good Halloween Trick

If you'd rather not have a ton of candy around your house after Halloween, let your child pick out 3 or 4 of their favorite pieces to keep and then tell them to put the rest outside their door when they go to sleep and the switch witch will come get the candy and bring them a present that they have been asking for instead!

Perfect portions

If you have a baby, save your baby food jars. They are perfect for storing nuts, trail mix or other "snacky foods" that need portion control. And you can put them in the dishwwasher since they're glass - you should not put plastic in the dishwasher.

Weekend trick

If weekends are hard for you because you're around the house more, make a list of projects or things you'd like to get done. Rather than raiding the kitchen, you'll feel better about yourself AND be productive at the same time crossing off your list!

Homemade chicken nuggets instead

Rather than buy processed antibiotic and hormone filled chicken nuggets for your kids, make them and freeze them. I dip organic chicken pieces in egg, then in panko bread crumbs mixed with parmesan cheese and some pountry season and lightly fry in coconut oil - full of nutrition and my kids love them!

Vary your food - try new recipes - avoid boredom! So many "food blogs" on this site show the same food day in and day out! Mix it up to stick with it! Get ideas from SP recipes and the message boards! And blogs too but not the monontonous ones!

Bare Fruit

This is simply dehydrated fruit - nothing else and it is organic. There are dried apple, pear, mango, cherries and more and the apples have a satisfying crunch like chips for only 180 calories for the entire bag - which is 6 servings!

$4.99 shipping! Always

For supplements and cheaper organic foods and products, go to vitacost.com - they have a flat $4.99 shipping no matter how much you order and they are so much cheaper than any other site I've found for same products.

Great pre-workout snack

For a great snack before working out, slice a small banana in 1/2 length wise. Smear 1 teaspoon peanut butter in the middle and put back together like a sandwich. Kids would love this too!

Blow dryer squats

I try to do squats the whole time I blow dry my hair. Nothing like multi tasking!

Binge on the healthy bag

If I'm really hungry and I want to be able to eat a lot, I choose a bag of baby carrots or dehydrated apple chips, so if I eat the whole bag I've only downed about 150 calories!
