Reviewing Your Priorities

Life can be such a roller coaster. Right now the only work I have is occasional temp jobs so I might get called in "ASAP" and it might last just a day or two. Paying my bills and buying groceries are good and high priorities, but they also throw everything else off track, such as healthy eating, exercise, family time, etc. On a work, day, work is my priority, but I need to also come home after and review (and plan) the rest of my time to make it all work out better. Planning is the key! :-)

Why leave money on the table!

Mr. A spends his cash and puts his left over extra change in his jar. He feels good. Mr. B gets a no annual fee credit card, a free $25 sign up bonus, watches his expenses, pays off entire balance at the end of each month, then gets FREE reward dollars direct deposited in his savings account monthly and therefore gets another small interest bonus! He feels great as his "jar" grows much faster!

Keep hydrated

With the onset of high summer temperatures, it is imperative to drink plenty of liquids. Sounds like Mom's advice to get over the flu. This water intake is great for your body to sustain itself, but it is good for maintaining our weight control goals. Helps your satiety quotient. Can't lose either way!

Grocery Shopping

I never go shopping without a list. If it isn't on the list, I don't get it unless it is something I really, really need for my home (like I forgot laungry detergent once). If I see something not on the list and I feel the need to purchase it, I have my daughter with me - and I have to justify it to her why I want to get it. Accountability is the key.

Moving?

Go to www.flylady.net for moving help & tips.

Also don't waste this opportunity - you will be touching all your stuff anyway, don't keep anything that does not bring you joy, that you don't consider beautiful, that you haven't used in the last 6 months (or seasonally, in the last year), or that you have duplicates of.

1st purge is easy; when it gets down to "the good stuff", use your feelings of uncertainty/confusion/torn as a signal to donate. Call Salvation Army, they pick up good stuff.

Yes, Potato Chips can be frozen and more

Bananas... lay them on a plastic cutting board, slice & freeze. Tastes like ice cream. After they are frozen I put them in plastic bags. They make great frozen snacks. I wash and chop celery and freeze it. It then is ready to use. You can do this with onions & green peppers too. Cream cheese, mozerella & Feta cheese freezes well. Freeze parsley, chives and basil. Potato chips and saltines freeze fine and flour does too. Grapes, yogurt, extra pancakes and french toast, flaxseeds, nuts,

Keep on going

If I fail, I don't fail in my mind, I just begin again the next day. I quit smoking almost 2 years ago and I succeeded. I can succeed at this too.

V8 Splash

I don't drink regular V8 juice because I donlt like tomato juice. I get the diet V8 Splash. I had to get use to the taste, but it is good. Only 10 calories per 8 oz. It is full of fruits and veggies.
