Taking Care of Yourself

When down and out physically or emotionally take some time out to take care of yourself. Being a single mom, it is my job to take care of everyone else but, it is equally important for moms and dads to take time out and take care of themselves.

Organization - Less is More

At the turn of every season, I gather up everything I haven't used in the past 3 - 4 months and I give it away or donate it. This clears out space to arrange the belongings I DO use and provides 'open space' so that my home and workspace don't feel so cluttered.

Pay yourself first!

commit a percentage of each payday to savings such as 10% etc. transfer it into a savings account or tuck it away in a cash box and then pay everyone else!

Holiday Parties - Eat before you go!

When i know there are going to be tasty treats and my favorite sweets at a party or get together, I simply eat a large apple before I go and drink a full glass of water. This helps to curb my appetite and allows me to fight off the temptation as well as everyone offering me this or that...It is really great to tell people, no thanks, I already ate.

Just Do IT!!!

Though I feel great physically, emotionally and mentally after a workout. There are days when I just don't feel like doing it. So, I just get up before I talk myself out of it and I Just Do IT! Afterward, I have such a rewarding feeling!

Swap white bread with high fiber low calorie bread. I like Nature's Own Whole Wheat bread with only 35 calories per slice!

Water with Lemon

I drink a full glass of water and sometimes add a splash of lemon before I eat. This helps to curb my appetite so I am better able to control my portions!
