after every meal I drink a huge glass of water and take a brisk walk, or I keep moving around the house. I do the dishes, do laundry, stay busy busy busy. exersize and water are the best ways to get sugar levels down. If you do this immediately then you dont get the sugar spikes and you usually wont have to do anything else to get levels back down
i don't think there is one person here that has had a day when you just don't want to exercise. just this week i stared down my stepper for a good l5 minutes before i decided to hop on. before i knew it, i actually went for a longer session than i originally planned for. so, my "secret" is that once you get involved in exercise, the endorphins will kick in, and you will be glad you ventured out!
Last night someone I know said some negative things about me and it was hurtful. We all experience people who try to zap our happiness. The good thing is I didn't cave and give in to food to lift my mood I got it out in my personal blog and know I made a healthier decision than I would have in the past.
If your garbage disposal is smelling a bit foul, turn on the water, start the disposal, and toss in orange peels one at a time. Larger peels will spin around a few times as they're chopped, helping to remove pieces stuck in there, and the smell will be replaced by the strong smell of fresh orange. When the peels are gone, keep running the disposal and the water for another minute to make sure it's all rinsed.
I love cereal, and I love big fat bowls of it (which can be multiple servings). To trick myself, I fill up a bowl with fruit-- bananas, berries, kiwis, pineapple, whatever I have-- and then pour a measured serving or half-serving over the fruit. Looks like a HUGE full bowl, but isn't! Top off with unsweetened almond milk at 35 calories to be EXTRA GOOD :) (or skip milk and use low-fat yogurt instead). Yum!
I hate working out but I have realized I really enjoy playing tennis, riding bikes with my husband, or just finding a trail or a stream in the woods and seeing where it goes. So try some new things you'll be surprised how much fun you can have exercising
I absolutely love Sunsweet pitted prunes...they are sweet, chewy and delicious and some times I put them on top of my english muffin with peanut butter and banana...they are a great source of fiber and I highly recommend them!
Sounds crazy but dont drink too much water. For a few weeks i was drinking 3-6L water a day. It was more habit than thirst, and im a fast drinker (cant stand sips here and there). I spoke to my dr cos my weight hadnt budged and she said that drinking more than 3L water a day is excessive and my body was holding all that extra fluid. I have been limiting myself to 2L of water a day and my weight loss has sped up, initially it will be water weight but thank god i spoke to my dr. :-)
