It's okay to step back once in awhile and just enjoy the moment. Even in tough situations - it's important to smile and laugh here and there. Don't restrict yourself from doing things you love because they're "not important" or because you think you'll be criticized for doing them. Let yourself enjoy life even if you're not at the best place you could be. You only live once - make the best of it.
I've found that one of the best ways for me to stay motivated is to think in terms of what I CAN do, rather than what I HAVE to do. Yes, I HAVE to exercise to get healthier, but my body is physically able to put me through those paces. It sounds cliched, but when I compare myself to those who are physically unable to exercise, it makes me much more willing to put in the effort! So say to yourself "I am ABLE to do this workout", rather than "I HAVE to work out".
Yes, you need to eat right, exercise, drink water and get lost of sleep too, but don't overlook the value of connecting with other Spark People! It is amazing what you can accomplish when you interact with others that share these personal and common goals, you will learn lots, develop wonderful friendships and reach your goals!!
We buy bottled water, so at the start of each day I put 4 bottles of water on my side kitchen counter, whch is equal to 8 glasses. I try to have mini goals in mind, such as by lunch I should be going for the 2nd bottle, by mid afternoon the 3rd and by dinner time the last one. I often find myself getting a 5th bottle out after dinner. I also find I drink more water when I pour it into a cup.
When I fry bacon, I fry the whole pound, drain between paper towels. Any that is not eaten at that meal, is put between fresh paper towels, inserted in a plastic bag and frozen. Handy to grab a slice or two and microwave and cuts down on the fat!
