Interval Training

If you haven't already, you have to try interval training for your cardio. It makes the time fly, burns more calories, and gets you in better shape. Try one minute of intense activity followed by 2 minutes of recovery for 30 minutes.

But I Don't Wanna!

Exercise is the key to feeling great. We all know that, but some days, we just don't feel motivated to move AT ALL. My trick, on those days, is to do at least the warm-up portion of the DVD, walking/running program, etc. Stop after that if you want, but I bet you won't!! emoticon

Avoid The Closest Parking Spot

When going shopping, to the mall, or anywhere, park far away. It's easy to find a spot far away, and you will burn up those calories walking.

Put yourself first

I find if I get up early and put myself first on the list by exercising first thing , as if I let it go , it is not going to happen, my day usually runs away from me, and later never comes.

Exercise- Make it a Daily Commitment

Making the daily commitment to daily exercise has truly been the turning point for me. I have tried for 20-30 years to get a consistent "right" mindset. No matter how hard I tried in the past, I would always 'fall off track' for one reason or another. Making the "JUST DO IT" motto a part of my daily routine has truly been the trick.

Just Do It

I found that at the beginning I had to just make myself do something. Exercise like anything else is a habit that you have to get into. It takes time and sometimes you just have to make your self do it.

Exercise and Food Calorie Awareness

I keep track of the calories I burn during exercise. Then when I think about eating a treat, I think about how much additional exercise I would need to work off the same number of calories, and ask myself "is it worth it?"

Daily formula for healthy living

Find and apply your daily formula for health.

At 5' 4" and 121lb, mine is to consume 1400 -1750 calories, do at least 10,000 steps (including at least 30 mins of cardio), eat at least 5 fruit and veg, drink at least 8 glasses of water. These numbers add up to good health! What's your formula?

Put down the salt shaker!

A high salt diet can cause high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. Your average intake of salt per day should be at or below 2300 mg, which is equal to only one teaspoon! Most foods these days already have salt added to them, so next time you pick up the salt shaker, think twice!
