Roasted Garlic instead of Butter

Use roasted garlic instead of butter! Great way to add flavour using less fat and calories!
Great on sandwiches, on baked potatoes and grilled cheese sanwiches (on the inside, not the outside). I add this to mashed potatoes, hummus and corn on the cob.
Let's just say I try to slather anything I can with this garlicky goodness! LOL

Turn OFF your TV!!!

I think the biggest TIME WASTER is watching TV...that's not to say that I still don't watch the occasional show!

Turn off the TV...you'll be surprised at how much TIME you ACTUALLY have! NO MORE EXCUSES, "I don't have time to work out!" You'll be able to get all those CHORES done! More TIME SPENT with loved ones. More time to get your butt OUTDOORS. Think of the possibilites and what you'll be able to accomplish when your butt isn't stuck on the couch!

MOTIVATION for the day

To keep my weight loss/healthy living goals fresh in my mind...I log onto Sparkpeople first thing upon waking in the morning.
This reminds me of my goals, gives me a focus for the day & motivates me to strive to reach these goals.
Plus my posts/comments first thing in the morning might motivate others to fulfill their goals for the day as well! emoticon emoticon

BUST late night cravings

My usual craving times are at night. I have found that if I drink water instead of right away grabbing a snack, my cravings often go away. I "forget" to drink much throughout the day meaning my body is dehydrated and really not hungry after all. emoticon

WASH, CUT, GRAB & ADD

This is my motto when trying to eat more fruits and vegetables. After shopping I bring home my produce for "processing". Meaning I "wash" and "cut" up as many fruits and vegetables as possible. This way I'm more prone to eat these when I'm hungry because I can just "grab" vegs and "add" to my soups and salads, and "add" fruit to my smoothies and cereals/oatmeal.

Don't Overthink Your Workout!

My secret to working out is not to overthink my workout! When I start to do this, I will come up with every excuse not to workout. Eg: I'm too tired, not enough time, I don't feel like it, I can't. I have learned to just get moving and jump right into some kind of exercise. I feel great afterwards and don't have to put myself through the guilt of not reaching my daily workout goals.
