Comfort Food

Awhile back I read a "Secret" where someone used oatmeal for her comfort food. I really liked that. So the past 2 weeks I've been doing that, when I wanted a comfort food having oatmeal with some cinnamon and raisins in it. or a little butter, which i don't usually add. It does work, and it has solved a big problem for me. I'm going to try some with peanut butter, like she suggested.

I Ask myself 2 questions before eating

Before I choose food, I ask myself if my stomach is truly hungry or is it just my mouth that is hungry. If stomach, eat a meal. If it's just my mouth feeling munchy, I snack on fresh veggies or almonds, or just chew gum. Find myself noticing my mouth gets hungry more than stomach. Listen to your body, it tells you more than your mind sometimes. emoticon

The less like water the color of your urine looks, the more water you need to be drinking!

Workplace Temptation

It seems like every time I come into the office someone brings in bagels or donuts for breakfast. Then for lunch someone orders pizza or tacos or gyros. Then for snacks there are always some kind of sugary treat within in reach. To keep myself on track I always bring my own lunch and snacks, eat breakfast before I arrive, and don't allow my coworkers to influence me to take "just one bite."

Great Idea

Every time you eat think about how you are feeding you muscles. If your muscles don't want a food then neither does the rest of your body, SO DON'T EAT IT!

Feel like binge eating?

Do a quick, moderately high intensity 5-15 minute exercise regimen. You won't feel like eating afterwards while your heart rate is pumping. Plus you may feel too elated to want to binge!

Plan your food and fill in your tracker in the morning - it helps a lot!

I've found this helps me be accountable for what I'm eating... and I think twice before I put something in my mouth!

portion size

I know most people know this but i think it really helps to us a small plate to eat, it really looks like you have more food on it than you do and is visually more satisfying than a smaller amount on a large plate

Eat as clean as you can.

Choosing what nature gives us rather than what comes from a box or bag will not only guarantee a healthier body, mind and spirit, it will help your body shed unwanted pounds. I have lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks by eating as "clean" as I can and exercising regularly!

Drink water after a meal..

A lot of people tell you to drink water before a meal to fill up and you won't eat as much. But, that does not help me at all. I like food and I love cooking, and I think food is meant to be enjoyed. What helps me is when I plate my food with appropriate portions, eat what I have on my plate then drink water afterwards. I immediately feel full and WON'T get back up for seconds. In fact, I'd feel so full that I would need to take a walk afterwards!
