Peanut butter majorly curbs hunger. One of my favorite snacks is an apple with 1.5-2 tsp of peanut butter. Under 250 calories and keeps me full for a LONG time. PB & banana sandwiches are really filling too. Having one of these two things every day helps keep me full. Plus, PB is one of my favorite foods. Win win!
I was stuck in a 1/2 pound (or less) lost a week, and I wasn't happy with that! So I created a weekly regimen where I do 5 types of cardio per week and added a couple things I hadn't been doing before - the stationary bike and swimming - and while the weight loss isn't spectacular yet, I'm seeing a difference. So getting out of a rut is really important! Any exercise is good but mixing it up ensures more weight loss. :)
I remember a long time ago trying to read a book on a stationary bike and found it difficult. Don't know why. I love bringing a library book (or my nook) and setting the stationary bike for random hill intervals now. Reading makes the workout go by super fast, and makes stationary bikes a lot more interesting! Try it!
Stop beating yourself up over that dessert you ate yesterday. First of all it's a good thing that you ARE beating yourself up - it means you want to eat healthy. Second of all, you can't change the past. It happened. Let it go. Today is a brand new day full of decisions you ARE in control of. Pick the healthier foods today. Drink more water today. Exercise more today. Don't let one slip up cause you to raise the white flag. We all make mistakes! Embrace today! Make good choices today!
I know for optimal weight loss and to avoid plateaus as often as possible, you should do many different types of exercises, including strength training. I do not dispute this; but the secret to exercising daily is to look forward to it, to be excited about it. And that will only happen if you find your passion and run with it! Discover what type of exercise you love and get out there and do it!
I have a 30 minute minimum fitness minute daily goal for myself. I HATE cleaning my apartment (yet I love when it's clean). I'm naturally disorganized. But I like it more now that I consider it exercise minutes I can put in my tracker. I even listen to my running playlist while I clean. It helps!
I was a fan of Advanced Step, and I do it from time to time. But I recently discovered Free Step. You can do different time intervals - 10, 20, 30 minutes - and the best part is the rhythm comes through the speaker in the Wii Remote and the Wii keeps running as you switch to your TV. In 20 minutes I did 1,990 steps while watching one of my favorite shows! 73 calories!
I find that when I have nothing to do and/or I'm bored, I get hungry; my stomach starts rumbling. I know eating within my calorie range is fine and I don't need food outside of my pre-planned meals. So I'll take a shower. I'll run an errand. Or, I'll go out and exercise! Distractions work!
I had no idea it would make as big of an impact on my performance as it did. I had been listening to the same playlist for weeks, and when I tried something else, I definitely had an extra bounce in my step (or my running stride)! Make sure you have tons of different workout playlists, and always mix 'em up. :)
