Even on the long days when I leave the house before 7am and don't get home till after 10pm, I log on to Sparkpeople and make sure to at least record my food intake and activities. This keeps me honest and on track !
Keep those walking shoes handy ...the the trunk of the car, in plain view on your porch, in the bathroom ....where ever they can serve as a visual reminder to get o ut and WALK !
When you are too hungry, fidgity or agitated to focus and function it may be time for a nice, refreshing nap !

If I find myself stewing over something, or tempted to fall into a "bad mood" , I go outside and walk (usually with my dog) until I feel better !

Exercising in the water is great. The water helps ease the pain of achey or stiff joints ....you get all the benefits of an on land workout with none of the trauma associated with land based movements !
Even on days I feel completely motivated or too rushed and stressed out to THINK about eating well or exercising, I MAKE myself log in and track my food and exercise ....just holding myself accountable keeps me focused on my goal of better health and fitness even during the most stressful of times.
