I eat foods I want and enjoy. That includes decadent deserts made with cream, butter, and sugar every few weeks, a glass or two of wine every few days; even a candy bar or non-diet coke on occasion. I dutifully record these indulgences in my food tracker to keep me honest and on course. Why it works for me--I never feel deprived. I have lost 30 lbs in 6 months and have do doubts I can stay on the program for the next 3 mos and 15 lbs. Life is to be enjoyed!.
When you find yourself at a crossroads, just add a minute more on the treadmill, or just one more rep to your strength, or just one minute of jumping jacks at commercial breaks. It all adds up eventually and gives you an extra calorie burn to shed those stubborn pounds!
My husband And I were shopping and noticed that our grocery store had stocked up on Turkey! We looked, and there were some good prices. We love to eat turkey so we don't care if it is a little early to get Thanksgiving Turkey. But the smallest we found was 27 dollars which was just a little too much or our meat budget. But then I noticed two frozen turkeys (the same size and brand) in the reduced meat section! We picked up two 10-13 pound turkeys for under 17.00! One for now and one for later
Just getting off the couch and moving! It helped me make a great start in the beginning..I never sit still for longer than 5 minutes if I can help it(except meals)...just watch a child, they are only still when asleep...we should all be the same :)
I know you've heard it a million times but DRINK MORE WATER! I keep a 55 oz jug of ice cold water with me at all times to sip on throughout the day, it keeps me from caving in to a soda when thirsty. -Eat breakfast! It gets your metabolism going for the day. I eat a mini whole wheat bagel with fat free cream cheese and an activia light yogurt every morning.
