Drink from pretty glasses

Drinking water from an ordinary glass doesn't appeal to me. I bought a dozen 11.5-ounce claret glasses (wine glasses) for $10. I also have some 6-ounce champagne flutes from the dollar store. Very high class! And more fun to drink water/diet drinks from.

Serve it up!

To avoid being pressured to eat birthday cake or other foods that are not on your diet, get involved in (or take over) the serving and cleaning up. That way nobody will notice that you're not eating any.

Variety checklist!

I get bored easily but want to stay focused on exercise. Meanwhile, I realized that I have a LOT of workout videos. So I've made up a weekly checklist of about 8 workouts, e.g., 3 different cardio videos, 3 different strength training videos, 1 yoga, 1 abs--plus a long walk with my walking group. I do 0-3 videos daily, depending on my energy level and schedule. Each month I make a new list using different workout videos, maybe substituting a Pilates video for yoga or abs.
