Food Network!

Avoid mindlessly watching the Food Network, and other food oriented shows on TV. I always find myself heading for the kitchen when these shows are on! Only watch with purpose, don't turn it on just to have it on.

Onions make you cry?

Do onions make you cry when you cut them? Try this :
10-15 minutes before chopping into that onion, stick it in the freezer. No more tears!

Let Go of the machine!

If you find yourself hanging on to the cardio machines at the gym for dear life, turn the machine down a bit and LET GO! Don't let the machine help you along the way. You will burn more calories going slower by yourself than faster, using the bars for support.

Any movement counts!

When brushing my teeth, or washing my hands, I kick my legs up so my knees are even with my chest. I do this for 2min when brushing my teeth, and while singing the ABCs when washing my hands. It may be little, but every bit counts!

Chewing Gum

I'm sure now everyone has heard about gum chewing for weight loss. I have found that eating it after I eat my meal, that it keeps me from going back for seconds or thirds if I'm not really hungry. Just the act of chewing seems to keep me satisfied.

Fitting in movement

I have a hard time fitting in any sort of movement. By the end of the day, I'm so tired and I've managed to talk myself out of working out. So at work, I run up and down the stairs at lunch, get up to the printer every time instead of letting it build up, and walk around as much as I can. Sure beats going home and doing nothing!
