Walk the Dog

Walking the dog is a great way to burn extra calories. Just having the added little pull on the leash increases that calorie burn. Try to walk the dog at least 2 times a day for an extra 200 calories burned.

Don't Make the scale your guide

Always remember you are doing this for yourself not the number on the scale. The scale cannot tell you what that number actually means. Is it water, sodium, gas..what is actually being weighed.

Dinner

Keeping food on the stove or on the counter is a great way to keep from over eating. We never put our meals on the table. Everyone has to get up and prepare their plate. Usually, they are too lazy to go for seconds so no one over eats.

Will Not Exercising help you?

We all have problems that we use as excuses not to exercise, but will not exercising or living a healthy life, make those problems go away? I think not. I think it makes you feel worse. So the next time you decide not to exercise, ask yourself whether that will make your problem go away.

Focus On You

Don't let others keep you from achieving your goals. We all have friends who are also heavy and they say that there is no reason to do what we are doing. They are only saying it because they don't have the guts to go through it. You tell them you do have a reason- a longer life.

Compromise-not

Never look at this lifestyle change as making a compromise; the only compromise your making is an unhealthy lifestyle for a healthy one and unhealthy foods for healthy foods. In other words you are compromising a shorter life for a longer one.

Deprivation

Don't deprive yourself of something you really want or this will become a "diet" not a lifestyle change. If you want it, just eat a little bit of it to satisfy the craving.
