LAZY DAY Workout

We all have those days, every now and then, when we JUST. DON'T. FEEL. LIKE. IT. It, being anything---especially working out. Instead of doing nothing at all, do a short, 15 minute workout circuit.

Choose exercises that engage small and large muscle groups simultaneously, for maximum calorie burn. For example, with proper form, do as many kettlebell swings as you can for 60 seconds. Rest for 10 seconds, then on to the next one. You can even make it a HIIT circuit. 15 minutes is better than zero

Everyone has those days when we just don't feel like lifting a finger, much less going to the gym or doing a full workout. I've found that on those days, a 10 minute session with my resistance band keeps my metabolism churning and calories burning!

Cut MORE Fat with Protein

After reading the book, "The Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno for the 2nd time (LOL), I TRULY began to understand the benefits of eating more protein---with every meal (including snacks). Besides drinking more water, protein will help shed those extra pounds FAST. I'm able to build and retain more muscle. Therefore, I can effectively shed more fat. As a semi-vegetarian, I've become more creative at finding other sources of protein.

Track Progress with Measuring Tape

The best way, for me, to track progress is to take my measurements once a week and try on smaller clothing. I only get on the scale once a month because watching the scale too often can be discouraging---especially when you don't realize that the 1-2 lbs gained was muscle. Losing inches ensures me that I'm burning fat. Therefore, the scale doen't mean as much anymore.

Write it Down

Writing it down and making your vision plain will give you a higher success rate of achieving your goals. Document everything you put in your body and even your feelings. Write down what you want to look like and how you imagine your new life to be...in your new healthy body!!! emoticon

MIND GAMES

One of the most helpful techniques is offering yourself a dual..a challenge...friendly competition!!! When you're feeling like you're in an exercise rut, play mind games with yourself. There was plenty of times that my old chunky self told my new almost fit self, "I bet you can't, I bet you won't, You can't do that, You don't have the stamina, You don't have the energy NOR the flexibility!!!" The reply was/IS always, "I CAN SHOW YOU BETTER THAN I CAN TELL YOU!" emoticon
