Breakfast Veggies

Having trouble getting in 5+ fruits and veggies a day? Why not add a serving of vegetables to breakfast? Have some baby carrots for a crisp contrast to "soft" breakfast foods like oatmeal and eggs. Warm up some leftover corn or green beans from last night. And who said you couldn't have a small salad with breakfast? Don't be afraid to be unconventional if it helps you meet your goals! 1 breakfast veg + 1 breakfast fruit = well on your way to eating well for the day.

Savory Oatmeal

If you think you can't include oatmeal in your diet because you don't like oatmeal that's sweetened or fruity, try some savory seasonings instead. A few shakes of that spice blend you love on chicken, a little garlic salt, or even a dash of cayenne pepper -- whatever pleases your palette, give it a shot.
