I foolishly put my "Tervis" type (rigid) straw in the dishwasher. When I pulled it out it was no longer straight. To fix it (straighten) the straw back, I put 2 metal kabob skewers inside the straw and ran it back through the dishwasher. The skewers held the straw straight when the plastic was heated up.
In full disclosure, my friends call me "Gidget" because I LOVE and collect kitchen Gadgets... But I absolutely LOVE my Vidalia Chop Wizard. Using the Chop Wizard I am able to make fresh mango salsa in less than 5 minutes. The most time consuming part is peeling and coring the Mango (if only they made a gadget....) The Chop Wizard uniformly and easily chops the peppers and mangos without having to manually cut the produce.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Spark Insider for sharing the dining out guide.
After working out, I start cooking my brown rice before I jump in the shower. By the time I'm done with my shower, the rice is about half cooked and which leaves about the perfect amount of time to finish cooking the rest of the meal. (Meat and vegetables)
I put 8 pennies on my desk each day. When I drink a cup of water, I put the penny in my desk drawer. It's a great way for me to see how many cups of water I've drank in the day.
As soon as I get home from the grocery store, using my food scale I weigh out the chicken breasts. The first few times I was amazed at how big the chicken breasts were. I wonder how many extra calories I had been consuming all these years?!?
Once I finish a powdered drink (Advocare Spark) tub, I save the scoop and use them as measuring spoons. One scoop is ~1 Tablespoon. They are perfect for measuring out things like salad dressings, sour cream and Cream of Wheat or whatever you can imagine.
I found that I was forgetting to take my vitamins everyday. After purchasing a 99 cent pill container and putting out my vitamins out for a week at a time it's very easy for me to see if I've taken my vitamins for the day. Best dollar I've ever spent!
