Plan! Plan! Plan!

My husband wonders what is on my mind. I tell him I am always planning(we are both Type 2 diabetics) what we are eating next, what we just ate, whats in the larder, freezer, fridge
and how I'm going to use it so I don't have very much waste of uneaten fresh veggies, fruit, etc. It's just as hard as when I had 5 kids to cook for. emoticon

Pre-portion fruits and veggies to take on the run!

I like to cut up, portion/weigh fruits and veggies into baggies and write the weight in grams on the bag so they ready for me to grab quickly as I leave for work in the morning. This makes it quick and easy to eat and track! They are also perfect snack size, and helps me get my 5 a day (minimum) in easily!

Get a Dog!

Dogs need lot of walks and you have to take them. I walk my dogs twice a day for an hour. by the end of the day I'm tired and so are they. If I don't feel like walking they do and I have to do it for them.

Low Glycemic foods make you full longer

Eating low Glycemic Index foods will release the glucose slowly, providing you with a steady level of energy and will let you lose weight easily. You still need to watch the fat content of your diet and eat fruits and veggies. Try to keep fat to 10 grams per day and your fiber from 35-50 grams.

my little drive-thru and take out secret

ORDER A KIDS MEAL..today my co-workers ordered lunch from a local deli, i ordered a kids turkey and cheese on wheat with organic baby carrots instead of chips..300ish calories..& im really full..even if you go to mcdonalds & get a kids meal [not the big kids meal, the regular one] & get apple dippers & diet soda, you get your taste for mickey d's with WAY fewer calories..i dont recommend doing this often with fast food but every once in a while wont hurt..its all about good choices & moderation

Dance, Dance!!!

When I don't feel like working out, like follow my structured work out, I just dance and dance for like an hour, that burns calories and put me in such a good mood!

Begin and End your day

Develop a spark streak of beginning and ending each day with a positive thought. It can be something that affirms your particular faith community; it can be thankful for another day to be alive, it can be anything.

Sneak more water into my day

I have a hard time drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Finally I started filling soda bottles with water and sipping on them off and on. I stopped worrying about how much I was drinking & it took the pressure off!

Don't Panic

When the numbers don't say what you want them to say, (scale, monitors), don't panic. Take a deep breath and remember you can start over at any time. emoticon
Any day and any time can be day 1.
