I have always had a tendency to fidget. I used to work really hard at not fidgeting. When I learned that fidgeting burns calories... I fidget all the time, and when people ask me to stop, I explain that fidgeting burns calories and ask if they wouldn't like to join me? Sometimes I get the strangest looks and sometimes people start fidgeting with me
If I can, I wear exercise-friendly clothes for a road trip. When I stop at a rest stop I often take ten minutes for a fitness break: jogging, doing calisthenics, even swinging a kettlebell I've thrown in the trunk, or a quick kickboxing routine. Tabatas are great, and I keep a HIIT program on my phone to help me keep time. Better than a cup of coffee for keeping alert and from getting stiff. I never mind the looks I get--I figure I'm inspiring people!
Making one change a month, and making it a regular part of your everyday life, will help you to keep yourself on track.
Instead of planning my menus and then going shopping, I check the store ads. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale? That'll make some meals this week. Grapes and bananas down in price? Chalk them up for fruit choices! Healthy eating can work fine in a budget.
Treat other people the way you want to be treated. Support them, visit their blogs, give them a goodie. Don't tear down motivators or popular blogs because they mean something to someone. If you wish to be treated as a motivator, then give others the same respect and encouragement!
When you see items advertised, watch them for a while and then decide to try it out. More times then none I am totally disappointed. This week I had seen the Wendy's fruit milk shake and the gentlemen eating big pieces of fruit with a spoon. Nothing like the advertisement you couldn't even see the fruit. 2 strawberries cut in half and 4 blue berries, thin milk shake. Don't buy fast food but that looked good. I will make my own since I have to put some weight back on. Calcium and fruit. Smile.
I hate plain yogurt by itself, but what I've discovered is that it works amazingly in recipes that call for sour cream. Pretty much any recipe that calls for sour cream, you can sub plain yogurt measure for measure, and you won't notice a difference. But you'll have significantly cut the fat and increased the protein. What could be better? Works especially well for dips. Mix 50-50 with regular guacamole, and you've cut your fat in half and added a lot of protein! Best is that it's yummers!
It has been so hard this week just getting through each day but I fight as hard as I can. It gets to a point when I think it is going to overcome me and that is not in my life style. I have had chemo 5 times but this has been the worst and I am fighting it with everything I have. I pray I have enough but then I know I do and I will succeed. Smile and always be happy.
I keep a water bottle beside me all day. I find if I sip on the water I can tell if what I'm suffering from is actually thirst and not true hunger. Cuts down a lot on grazing. Also, I have to go the the restroom more frequently and I do a few squats (pardon the pun) and pushups before I leave the room.
