Every since I invested in a pedeometer, I'm challenged to 'Get Moving and Keep moving' each day. It's a lot harder to sit around when I know I need to get some steps in. It's amazing how much we move and don't realize it. Studies show we need around 10,000 steps a day to maintain weight loss. I racked up 4,000 alone the other day in my Zumba class. I'm pumped!! When sweet cravings hit, 'once you cop, you can't stop!!' When the craving (or temptation hits for the first time, I tell myself, "I will, but in 30 minutes". I keep this up as long as I can. By the time I give in, I still do less damage than I would have done. Sugar has NO nutritional value!!! So it's not a necessity, but a luxury. Let's make it worth it and enjoy it even more!
Knowing how important water is to weight loss, I have tried a few methods to insure I get at least my 64 oz a day. And actually those of us who live in hotter climates (it gets to 120* here in the summer) should be drinking even more.
I remember seeing these commercials about this hormone cortisol that is produced when you're stressed and under pressure. It inhibits us from losing weight. So since I'm under a lot of stress and pressure at work, I got a great idea to eat extremely light at work and lost 15 lbs within 2 months.
