A Little Loose Change

It can go a long way!

If you are like me and have to do your laundry at a laundromat. It takes a lot of quarters. However, I never carry cash. So I have to get 20 from the ATM. I can get 20 in quarters in the machine. Do my laundry and when I come home any of the quarters that are left go into a change jar. You can use them for the next time you wash clothes or you can get a coffee can and make a note on it. The note can say something like "computer fund" whichever you would like to save for.

Need Some Extra fiber?

To boost fiber intake, try fiber gummies! They have 1g more fiber than powdered mixes, and are a treat-y way to take fiber. Stroehmann's also makes a double-fiber bread, which packs in 50% of your daily fiber in 2 slices!

Take out the tape measure

Sometimes I go for a week or so without losing any weight even though I've been eating sensibly and exercising. I get a little frustrated and then remember to take out the measuring tape. I usually find that I've lost an inch or so from my waist which inspires me to workout even more.

Water on the Brain

When I first started using Spark, I had a difficult time remembering exactly how much water I had consumed. To help me with this, I started leaving empty water bottles by the sink so I could count them.
BUT, my DW thought they made her kitchen look messy (when Mama's angry, someone ain't getting treated as lovingly as they would like).

To keep peace in the kitchen, I added water to my favorites (in two cup increments as I usually finish a two cup water bottle). Now, with my meals I have

Losing the spark is okay, as long as you get it back.

We all go through times when we don't do as we should. Moments were we binge when we shouldn't, or forget to work out when we should... or just start procrastinating. It's all right to have these setbacks, as long as we get back into it. Whatever it takes to find that motivation again - do it! And if you can't seem to get motivated.. then just start doing it again anyway! The momentum will eventually take over. :) emoticon

Tweaking the Schedule

I wrote out my priorities on a small card & assigned a 1 hr time slot to get each one done in. ( I numbered my chores, but started with 10 for 10am). Not that each chore takes an hour, but it helped me to stay focused through the day. Life never happens exactly according to schedule, which is good, too. I like surprises & last night we were blessed with a great surprise visit from friends. I didn't get everything done, but did so much better than without a plan & can do better today! It works!

15 Minutes a Day

This may gave already been posted--15 minutes per day keeps the clutter away, one way to beat the clutter is set the timer for 15 minutes and start putting away items in one room, when the timer rings, you're done for today. Do this each day and you will be caught up before you know it. Know this you can do a lot in 15 minutes when you are focused on only one task.

Cravings

If you have major sweet tooth cravings try Skinny cow candy and ice cream, or peanut butter and jelly! Use 100 calorie packs or 100 calorie (or less) ice creams. Sometimes we need to give in to our cravings, so its good to have "healthy" indulgent items on hand so we dont over-indulge in horrible things! emoticon

Sparking with a Cold

Having a cold will definitly slow you down but it doesn't have to make your progress stall. Track the things you eat while feeling blah, most of the things good for a cold are also good for a healthly lifestyle. Get plenty of fluids, have a bowl of chicken soup. Get plenty of rest. The cold will pass and you will still be on track.
