I bought myself a new food scale to weigh the food I am eating for better tracking. I bought the new Weight Watchers' scale because I'm also doing Weight Watchers -- and the scale is really easy to use and can be set for grams or ounces. Plus, the newness of the scale makes things fun.
I bought myself a heart rate monitor and wear it whenever I exercise -- even when I am just walking. In addition to measuring my heart rate, the monitor keeps track of the time spent and calories burned. It even stores the information -- and it doubles as a watch. (It's from Polar.)
I bring my own lunch to work nearly every week day -- something like brown rice or a potato (to bake in the microwave) and vegetables and a little protein like leftover chicken or even beans, and a piece of fruit. Not only does this ensure that I'm eating a healthy lunch, but it also saves me money.
