I've noticed 3 types of hunger on my weight loss journey: Physical Hunger, in which my body needs food; Mouth Hunger, in which I have a taste for something, but my body doesn't need the fuel; and Psychological Hunger, in which my emotions or condition at the time (and not my body) hunger to eat. My secret is simple: only feed the physical hunger.
That quote is from Abraham Lincoln, and when I start sweating the small stuff, I run that sentence through my head and choose to focus on something that makes me happy. Happiness is something you have to choose for yourself, no one else can make it for you. So make up your mind to be happy. It feels a lot better than the decision to be miserable.
