OTC Bottles

Sometimes the smaller size bottles of aspirin are cheaper than the big ones. I use the big ones at home and I use the smaller bottes as my "travel size". That way, no one can accuse me of carrying unlabeled meds when I travel.

Celebrate Your Accomplishments
!

I have a lot of weight to lose. Instead of focusing on the big number still to lose, I celebrate the weight I have already lost. That positive energy helps me keep motivated and moving forward!

Focus on What You CAN Do

I have some physical challenges that limit what I can do. For that reason, I don't use the workout generator and cannot do a lot of the daily exercises. Thinking about that is a real de-motivator, so instead, I focus on what I can do.

Ask Yourself....and Wait

Doughnut or healthy cereal? Ask yourself and wait for the answer before choosing. Today, I chose cereal because I really want to see a lower number on the scale this week. Then I waited for that inner voice. When the inner voice agrees, the choice is a lot easier and happier!

Add Soup!

Add soup (broth and veggie, not creamy) to fill in the "nooks and crannies" so you will feel full sooner.

Make Your Health a Priority

On this journey, one of the things I am learning is to make the right choices for the right reasons. I eat & exercise in ways that show I care about me. So, too, I do the yearly physical exams, even though I don't like them, because that is also taking care of me.

Flavor Packets

At work, I have a container where I keep mustard & other sauce packets. Sometimes I have imitation crab as my protein for breakfast & I use the Taco Bell packet (example) as a way to add flavor to an otherwise somewhat dry food.

Look for Dual Purpose Reasons to Act

I signed up to walk a 5K (never done that before!). It will raise money to defeat childhood cancer, it commits me to walk & it gets me closer to the $250 cash reward from work for making healthy choices.

Right Size Dishes

SP promotes the Fit & Healthy line of food containers. I just bought some & have been surprised how off my idea of portion was! I dropped half a pound just by right-sizing my food 2 days ago!

Reaching Out to SparkFriends

I've been struggling with eating right/exercising - the whole thing. Usually I withdraw into myself when I struggle. I posted a blog about my struggles & reached out to my Spark Family. Their support helped me get back in the right mindset and moving forward! I LOVE SP!
