Try new fitness ideas, classes & groups & make it social & fun. I'm not excited to get up early on the weekend to run on my own. Now I plan it with friends. I know we can chat while running & have fun. I'm looking forward to catching up & can't wait! Making it fun & social keeps it something to look forward to.
Not every run is a good run and some days are easier than others. "When I am having a tough run I start repeating my mantra over and over along with my pace. Keep it short and simple. For me? "Run strong. Finish proud."
The best advice I got on weight loss was from my doctor last year. I hadn't lost a pound in 6 months but was running 3 times a week. She said, don't focus on the scale. Stop weighing yourself. Don't focus on the size of your clothes. Instead focus on your fitness. Instead of doing more 5K's, train for a 10K. Change your focus to living healthy and the rest will follow. I did just that. In 1 year I've lost 20 pounds AND ran the Boston Marathon!!
