After a day or week (or longer) of mindless eating and snacking, I get back on track by stepping back before I eat something and envision what that will do to my body after I eat it. This helps me realize the minute long pleasure I will feel from eating that brownie or what not will stay with me all day in the form of extra fat and sugar. Suddenly that brownie isn't worth it anymore.
