I have learned that joining a team for each obstacle that I face with healthy eating helps. When I am struggling with a particular obstacle I visit that sparkteams message boards until I begin to battle the next obstacle.
I find that if I have the urge to eat when I'm not supposed to sucking on a sugar free hard candy helps the urge to pass.
When I am faced with a breakthrough that means that I will face a challenge to reach it. I recognize that and work harder to reach it just to get over the obstacle before the breakthrough.
Make a poster with some kind of gauge like a road or thermometer. Fill in a blank everyday you exercise. When you reach the end reward yourself. That way you reward behavior and not the scale.
As soon as I started feeling better aftet my daughter was born I jumped right back into sparkpeople. I have found that co-leading a team is very motivating for myself as well as others.
We all talk negatively to ourselves. I have found that I need to catch my self, stop what I was saying and replace it with something positive about myself.
