Counting Calories

If your tracking your food intake, track it in grams. It is so easy to make mistakes by guesstimating portion sizes such as (large, medium, small or cup). If your looking to lose weight, or gain muscle this is where you need to make the most emphasis.

SAVE MONEY, TIME AND CALORIES @ THE BULK FOOD STORE/SECTION

When making my own snack mix, I bring a measuring cup(s) to the bulk food store. This method ensures I have just the right amount for the recipe and limits over purchasing. Also makes it easy to calculate calories. Go home, mix the already measured amounts together and portion into small snack bags.

Try the Vegetarian Option

I work in an industry where people take me to lunch or bring in lunch most days. I've found that the vegetarian option is frequently lower in calories yet very filling. I've also been able to try lots of new vegetables prepared by someone who knows how to cook them, before I attempt them at home.

Enjoying using the treadmill

I try to use the treadmill at least 4 times a week. It can get boring. I go to the library and get books on CD and listen to them while exercising it makes the time go by fast and I can keep up with the latest books i want to read.

Quick Clean the Bathroom

When you get out of the shower and the bathroom is steamy, use your towel to wipe down the mirror and sink. Spray the toilet with a bleach based cleaner & leave it for a few minutes then flush.

No more foods getting lost on the high shelf or back of the fridge!

I keep my pantry and fridge organized by putting like foods in plastic organization bins (found at your favorite discount department store for $2-4 a bin). In the fridge, I used organizers for kitchen drawers for the small jars and such.

The Less I have

The less I have, the less I have to clean.

As we declutter different areas of our lives we will find we have less "stuff", this results in needing to clean less :)

5 Min to Prep, 20 Min Saved

Every evening after dinner, set out the things you will need for the morning. Lay out clothes, arrange breakfast items, place bags to take in next to the front door. Doing it the night before can shave huge amounts of time off your morning routine!
