Look at your SP Reports!

When I'm feeling down on myself, I go to "My Reports" and check my progress. My favorite is checking how many calories I've burned in a month or how many minutes I've spent exercising. When I see that I've spent the equivalent of a full work week exercising and that I've burned enough calories to melt off 4.5 pounds in one month, it makes me want to come back for more!

healthier substitutions for fave treats

I had a really hard time with giving up some of my favorite treats, so I found healthier substitutions for them. Instead of having ice cream, I have a Diana's banana baby - a frozen half banana dipped in chocolate (130 calories). The banana tastes rich and creamy when frozen while the little bit of chocolate makes me feel as if I'm not depriving myself.

coffee and protein

I have to have my morning cup of coffee every day, so here is how I make it work for me. I add one serving of EAS light protein powder (found at Target) into my coffee with 2 packets of Stevia. The protein powder adds 100 calories, but with 15 grams of protein it helps keep me full for a long time and cuts down on how much sweetener I need to add. Depending on what flavor you get, it's an easy and healthier way of getting that vanilla latte or chocolate mocha taste every morning.

Volumizing

I stir fry a bag of broccoli slaw, 1 package of sliced mushrooms, and 1/2 onion with 1 T. of vegetable oil and add 1 cup of this to whatever I am eating for dinner that night to help with portion control. One cup of this is only 84.5 calories, 2 g. of fat, 7 g. of carbs, and 1 g. of protein which saves me major calories if I am adding it to something like pasta or a casserole dish.
